Review of Junebug (2005) by Mike H — 20 Feb 2011
Amy Adams is the saving grace in this film and I can see why she was nominated for so many awards. She portrays the character of a young, pregnant girl stuck in a loveless marriage so well. When Madeleine comes into the families lives, the young Ashley immediately befriends her with her naivety and charm.
Other than that, I found most of the family to be stale and the artist that Madeleine so wanted to promote quite weird. I would definitely watch this film again, if only for it's honest picture at family life and all that comes with it and, of course, the lovely Amy Adams.
