Review of Junebug (2005) by Harman K — 11 Jan 2010
Urban-rural conflicts and dysfunctional families are always good issues to be raised on the big screen. This movie's start is interesting, but then it becomes weird. There are several shots of scenery which seems to be unnecessary.
The sex scenes may be a way to show George's emptiness, yet far too explicit and absurd. The only shining moment comes from Amy Adams. Your eyesight just can't leave her. (Or maybe the song at the beginning as well.
).
