Review of Jumping the Broom (2011) by Abdul N — 10 May 2011
I give it two stars, and yet it's actually better than I expected. Angela Bassett is wonderful and her character is genuine. Unfortunately I find everything else about the movie to be contrived, forced, and formulaic.
It's really a two-dimentional movie with no soul or heart, and I felt it was a real waste of some good talent. It had potential, but unfortunately and sadly nobody chose to leverage that potential.
