Review of Jumping the Broom (2011) by Adam L — 02 Jan 2012
Everyone annoyed me on some level in this film except the father of the bride and the groom (and of course lil romeo!!!)...I hated the bride and both the mother's pissed me off at some point...let's not even mention the token white chick. Why'd they put meagan good in her role is also beyond me and why was the chef clamming?!?!
I almost felt like I was in a Madea movie and that's NOT a good thing...however, the men in this film are simply AMAZE...laz alonso and romeo made me extremely happy at times when I became highly exasperated. Paula Patton's character needed a good punch along with her mom and mother in law...i dunno what's wrong with the black women in these movies, but the suprise twist in the film reeked of another black film I watched a few weeks ago...suprise suprise.
Still I like some of the messages here and they did get a few laughs in...however, if ur into watching a great td jakes film, I highly suggest "Not Easily Broken"...it was all kinds of awesome.
Ps: shout outs to lil romeo for being fine as hell and to tasha smith for being the muse that kept the cougar dream alive.
