For a movie funded by Bishop TD Jakes, the morality play one would have expected is surprisingly played down. This isn't a church movie. Its about the economic divide, about black sub-cultures and how they interact, and finally what really matters when it comes to love.
It just as easily could have been a Tyler Perry movie, and that is saying something.
