Whoopi Goldberg's first feature film is brilliant 80's cheese - fun and daft.

Goldberg works for an international bank in New York, completing financial transactions over the banks computer network. One day a mysterious hacker begins communicating with her through her terminal - one that turns out to be a British spy trapped in Russia and needing her help.

It is as daft a story as there is, but like a lot of 80's comedies there is a sweet naivety to it that let's you just go with the flow and enjoy it for what it is - light-hearted entertainment.

One of the strengths of the film is the casting. Goldberg is brilliant as our inexperienced protagonist, trying to the best job she can in unfamiliar and dangerous circumstances. Her regular office buddies are also very well cast, including Phil Hartman, Jon Lovitz and Carol Kane. There are even some great cameos from Michael McKean, Tracey Ullman and James Belushi.

Even the actor playing Jack turns out to be a nice surprise at the end.

In light of today's technology, this story could never work, but even viewing now that does not detract from the enjoyment of this espionage comedy caper.

Definitely worth watching.
