Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Louis L — 18 Jan 2018
This film does a good job of not taking itself too seriously. The fantasy setting provides an easy-going take on a high-stakes adventure.
The laughs come often and feel genuine. Every character really comes to life once our stars take over inside "Jumanji.".
The fun pokes at 90s culture and video game aesthetics are well placed.
There is a teaspoon of reminiscence for the original Jumanji but the movie is entirely its own.
It is far from deep but touches on some lessons that are well-founded and agreeably useful for teenagers and pre-teens alike.
