Review of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) by Jess_Hill — 29 Dec 2017

A film which neither exceeded expectations, nor fell beneath them, this is a fun adventure with some genuine laughs; an entertaining experience in general. The predictable script is saved by the excellent casting, and with fast pacing and some memorable action sequences, it's a perfectly acceptable genre film that is a solid update of the original.

Whilst it tries to have its cake and eat it too with regard to some of the meta-commentary, which is irritating, overall it is sufficiently enjoyable to warrant watching, but is probably best suited to families on movie night.
