Review of Jumanji (1995) by Ryan V — 13 Apr 2012
Based on the popular children's book, Jumanji is about a magical board game that unleashes a horde of exotic animals into suburbia. The only way to keep these creatures from overrunning the town is to finish the game, but the vicious beasts of the jungle get in the way.
This movie is largely a vehicle for Robin Williams' hammy acting, but there's also a lot of space for CG effectsI. Overall, however, Jumanji is merely one of many movies that has difficulty stretching the plot of a kid's book to a proper feature-length time.
