Review of Juliet of the Spirits (1965) by Marisa G — 07 Feb 2010
For an amateur in the use of color, Fellini does a great job of expressing the excesses of Juliet's mind. At times this film seems something of a dark and suggestive "Alice in Wonderland".
I'm not sure that the end is satisfying, but the journey is fascinating. Juliet is breaking out of her shell at the same time that she is retreating further into it. Also, there are so, so many fun and fantastical characters in this film.
