Review of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) by Kevin M — 02 Jul 2007
Beautiful, disturbing, visually abraisive. This might be Korine's masterpiece. More mature than Gummo, much darker. I know, Gummo was darker than the inside of a cat, but Korine sort of cut out all the sick humor that gummo had.
There is a little humor, the guy with no arms drumming etc. But overall, JDB is as cold as stone. I loved it.
