Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Simon A — 20 Oct 2011
A movie to be savoured by food aficionados and which has another extraordinary performance by Streep (Oscar nominated, may I add). Amy Adams is good, but Streep sets such high standards that anyone would struggle to match it, and it wasn't fair that Amy's parallel role was nowhere as interesting as Streep's.
The French ambience was wonderful, the food looked succulent, and the husband wife pairing of Tucci and Streep was inspired, making it a memorable and realistic portrayal of a loving couple.
