For people outside US this movie has two reasons to watch 1) Hello, Meryl Streep is here (applies for US viewers too). 2) Get to know Julia Child. Really, Julia Child is not very well known outside US, at least in Asia (she wrote the book for servant less Americans!!!).

Here, it's essential that you watch and know some Julia Child on YouTube. Otherwise you'll miss the Meryl Streep performance, which is the reason (and partly Nora Ephron!!) I watched this, otherwise cooking-culinary movie??? She does an extraordinary job (need I tell this?!!!), Nora Ephron was also good but not a great subject for general audience, I guess.

The subject was pretty focused, had no reason except Meryl to watch this. Do you think Amy Adams performance was understated because Julie Powell is not so famous, at least in media or even on TV or YouTube?? I think.

Btw, Meryl Streep really looked huge!!!!!!
