Review of Julie & Julia (2009) by Desi N — 22 Feb 2011
I have always admired Julia Child and Meryl Streep tackles her iconic personality very well. The script however is a little sparse - it does capture Child's joie de vivre which was readily evident to those of us who loved her on television.
The Julie character is merely narcissistic, whiny and annoying so this nixes the other half of this dual story. This is an enjoyable trifle but this lacks any real passion which is a shame, because Julia Child was passion incarnate.
