Review of Jules and Jim (1962) by Nate W — 25 Jul 2009
Though often heralded as a pioneer of the French New Wave movement, Truffaut's "Jules et Jim" is an overrated work from an overrated director. The dialogue is blunt, and the incessant narration (better suited for the book on which the film is based) leaves nothing for the viewer to interpret.
Quite simply, the film is dull.
