Review of Juice (1992) by Alexander Z — 27 Mar 2013
Juice has a great film knocking around inside of it. The four main guys give great performances, especially Tupac and Omar. It's a film that'll leave you feeling sad and angry.
Problems arise in the dialogue and over the top performances, particularly the Hispanic gang. A lot of the side characters spout ridiculously stereotypical hood dialogue. It feels like less time was spent on every other part besides the main plot. However, Juice does succeed in creating an authentic atmosphere, helped in part by the great hip hop soundtrack.
