This movie is a good, lighthearted story. The lack of plot mentioned by the critics is simply because it's a children's series - if you've ever read Judy Moody or Junie B. Jones, you know that the entertainment is in the characters' personalities and their interpretations of the world around them rather than their adventures.
My 7 year old loved this and, though I'd never go for myself, I thought it was worth sitting through. The ABC food and animal scat is all a part of having rambunctious children. It's also very Judy Moody.
