Review of Ju-on: The Grudge (2002) by Jay D — 30 Jan 2011

Loved this film... it was on late one night on Freeview and I really didn't know what to expect, this is full of creepy images that will stick with you for days and is atmospherically shot. I'd given up on horror films as most American efforts these days tend to treat the audience like idiots with the plot and jumps signposted in advance, loud music breaking the tension and usually the obligatory rapper in there somewhere, 'Ju-On: The Grudge' has pointed me in the direction of Asian cinema which is providing a goldmine of quality and innovative film making.

.. this film may not be to everyone's taste but if you're enjoying either Japanese movies or like a proper horror film then you really should check this out.
