"DON'T PLAY WITH STRANGERS".

- 'Joy Ride' is a 2001 horror road movie written by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Super 8) and Clay Tarver, and directed by John Dahl (You Kill Me). Road Trip turns slasher is probably the best way to describe this movie. I do like the storyline and the way the tension makes you sit on the edge of your seat, and maybe good to say one that isn't all about gore. Credits go to the cast: Steve Zahn (A Perfect Getaway, Dallas Buyers Club), Paul Walker (Fast and Furious franchise, Brick Mansions) and Leelee Sobieski (Eyes Wide Shut, Deep Impact) and the voice of Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs, the Hills Have Eyes). With the impressive music by Marco Beltrami. Make sure to watch the special edition, as it also shows multiple alternate endings. Two sequels of 'Joy Ride' followed quickly. Ready to take on a joke?

When student Lewis Thomas (Walker) plans to make a road trip to pick up his childhood friend Venna (Sobieski), he gets a phone call from his mother who tells him that his estranged and troublesome brother Fuller (Zahne) is in jail. Making a little detour, Lewis decides to get his brother. Fuller insist on joining him, and so the two brothers go on a road trip. Along the way they use their CB radio to joke around with lonesome truckers. When one trucker, who calls himself Rusty Nail (Levin), is interested to me up with Candy Can, who is in fact Lewis pretending to be a woman, Fuller is happy to arrange the date with a rude man who is staying at their motel. But what started out as a joke, soon turns into a nightmare...
