Review of Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead (2009) by Robert L — 10 Oct 2008
An unnecessary been-there-done-that-before sequel to the by far superior original.
At least in the first film "Rusty-nail" was kind of a pathetic loser who the audience sort of feels sorry for. Which in a way made the original "rusty" (voiced by Ted Levine) cool!
Now for the sequel's revised "rusty", he's just cold, uninteresting and has no true killing motivation other than just to make a sequel. And on top of that, now he's NOT voiced by Ted Levine? - I'm sorry but Ted Levine's deep, scratchy, shrilling of a voice is what made "Rusty-nail"!
Two Stars - and that's truely being generous.
