Joy is for the most part, a joy. Jennifer Lawrence fleshes out an intriguing and fully rounded characterisation, she's always so watchable. The rest of the cast are solid too. But it does ramble. It could have done with some serious editing.

But I give it 4 stars because it's a character driven piece which held my attention for the most part. I mean on paper ? A story about a woman who invents a mop? Who would've known it would been so interesting.
