I didn't expect much from this movie so was pleasant surprised. The stellar cast does a good job in portraying the unconventional family of Joy (Jennifer Lawrence). Stuck on hold in her mediocre life, she fights for a success that does not come easily.
As such, the story is slow to get going but its truth gives it an added appeal.
