Review of Journey's End (2017) by Ethan S — 28 Aug 2018
What so many people forget regarding WWI were the long stretches of nothingness that soldiers face from day to day on the front. A part from their duties within the company, soldiers would have little to nothing to do during the rest of the day.
Knowing this fact when going into Journey's End, it makes sense why the pace is the way it is. Yes there's a lack of action and fighting, but the reality is that's how WWI was. In terms of acting, all the actors played their roles well enough to the point where I felt like I was in the same moment they were in.
Its slow, nerve racking, sad, and ultimately, an unfortunate depiction of the horrors that occurred during the great war.
