Review of Journey to the Centre of the Earth (1977) by Craig C — 12 Oct 2015
I saw this several times as a child and 30 years later its still magic. James Mason's Oliver Lindinbrook remains one of his signature performances, though the whole cast, including the scene-stealing Gertrude The Duck, has no weak links.
The sumptuous scenery and SFX make up for the dolled up lizards in the last half hour, and as long as you don't think about the 19th Century science plot holes, you will have a great time. Essential.
