Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) by Ryan B — 18 Sep 2010
Well, it could've been worse...I guess. It's probably what you'd expect. It's about as corny as you can get, while mixing in some of Verne's vision in places. In short, it wasn't very good.
There was one great scene: a fingernail biting rock jumping sequence involving this crappy teen actor and his Snow White bird friend he found and befriended for some reason. It was like a Mario game. It was real tense there for a few minutes. The expression on the face of the Snow White bird was almost too much to take. When the fate of the crappy child actor hung in the balance, even the bird could not help but shake his head in angst. Seriously, it was probably one of the dumbest moments of cinema. It was so bad, it was good.
