Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) by Jessica H — 31 Mar 2013
Haha, despite me finding the movie cheesy and the fact that me and my little cousin always watch it just to rag on it and make fun, I have to say that I have watched this movie more times than I would have imagined I would want to (at least six times, at leeeast) So that is saying something.
I enjoy it's cheesiness, and it's easy-going and fun nature. It doesn't take itself too seriously and knows what it is, to entertain kids and even some adults without being too, well, melodramatic or serious for its own good.
I actually enjoy Brendan Fraser a lot, and especially in this. He is funny and good at physical comedy as well as facial and tonal expressions. He is also good at being a person one would want to root for, to be sympathetic towards.
The special effects are lovely, and also I like Josh, so there. But yeah, this movie is good to relax to, knowing my mind won't be involved all too much.
