Review of Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) by Tim W — 18 Mar 2018
Hokey and dated just ten years on. Any film in which animals mimic human behaviour, in this case a bird shaking it's head while it covers it's eyes with a wing denoting weary astonishmentioned, is asking for a kicking. I read an article on Brendan Fraser recently in which he described his career to this point as one of being shoe horned into roles of affable matinee idol. That is no more evident than in this. He even does the thing where he grabs the girl with one arm and spins her around to his other so she is looking up at him ready to be kissed. Anyhoo, I like Fraser and he showed some signs of his talent in.
Meatier roles before he dropped off the radar. Hope to see him back. But not in anything like this. Saturday afternoon fare with the kids at best, just like it's predecessor.
