(1959) Journey To The Center of the Earth.
SCIENCE- FICTION/ ADVENTURE.
If one were to see this film right now for the first time, it would seem this film is outdated, slow and a little fake but to others like me it's another great contribution to adventure and science fiction cinema especially if it has one of it's influences to Raiders of the Lost Ark with the boulder scene as well as Gene Roddenbury's Star Trek series of man's determination for discovery.
This film has not much of a storyline when it's exactly what the title says about the curiosity of the center of the Earth. After my second viewing with the first time seeing this was as a little kid, and as I was growing up I couldn't stop remembering subconciously about how dazzled I was about the astonishing sets of their discoveries which almost made wanting to be their too the deeper they go down, the more fascinating it is to watch and is quite tame these days with their special effects. I remember there was a time when a film depends on great performances than on CGI, these days it's exactly the opposite!
3/4.
