Johnson Family Vacation (2004) Cedric the Entertainer, Vanessa Williams, Solange Knowles, Bow Wow, Steve Harvey, Gabby Soleil, Shannon Elizabeth, Chris Hardwick, D: Christopher Erskin. Uptight insurance man takes his broken-down family from the California suburbs on a disaster-prone trip to a family reunion in Missouri and finds a tighter familial bond.
Almost an exact replica of Chevy Chase?s VACATION (the first scene is also set in a car dealership), only the comedy is predictable and uninspired. Though the movie does have an overall good-natured spirit, some gags seem way off-kilter for this PG-rated family-comedy; it also wastes the talent of the funny Cedric and a likable supporting cast.
Running Time: 95 minutes and rated PG for some sexual references, crude humor, and brief drug material. **.
