Stylisically, the film is a mess (Who the hell is Joan Crawford looking at when she talks?) and there is an odd lack of spatial continuity. That said, the movie is so odd generically (the hero does nothing in the climax) and thematically (Mercedes McCambridge=McCarthy?) its a blast to watch.
