I didn't get nearly caught up in the "emotional" aspect of this film as much as the writers tried to get me to be. I don't mind the concept, it's the way they portrayed it that I have a problem with.

The entire audience is led to believe that John is some sort of hero for breaking the law and holding an entire ER hostage and that Rebecca Payne is the antagonist? Everything she said was right: You can't give in to a hostage taker, then everyone will do it.

If the American public's got a problem with the health system, take it to your senators. I'm glad John let the pregnant woman go and it was respectable of him to not even have a loaded gun the entire time and be willing to commit suicide for his son, but if I had been that pregnant woman and he had interfered with my labor I would've been pissed.

John's not a hero. He shouldn't have been cheered on. I don't like the concept of crying for every dying person, but Frankie was right when he said that the cheering crowd didn't give a shit about John & that he was just the cause of the moment.

If you're going to cry for a sick kid, then you have to cry for all the sick kids. I don't like when an athlete, every time he takes the field, has the story of how he beat cancer brought up. Personally, I'm ADHD (I know that's not nearly as bad, but listen to my point) & I know that I wouldn't want someone mentioning that I was ADHD every time my name came up.

A disease does not make a person. Why should that athlete get a bunch of attention and praise for beating cancer, did Joe Blow down the street get attention and praise for beating cancer? No. I know this makes me sound like a cold-hearted bitch, but so be it.

And then, they don't even tell you how long he ends up going to jail?! Are you kidding me?!
