Review of John Q (2002) by Rocknblues 8 — 14 Oct 2009
Not one of Denzel's best flicks. John Q is a predictable and heavy handed story about a factory worker facing a crisis when his young son needs a heart transplant. Lacking money and resources, John Q resorts to despite measures to keep his son alive. Which could have been a good story, but the heavy handed stuff about health care gets in the way and overshadows everything else. Including Washington's decent performance. Pretty much everyone can and has done better.
Denzel makes this watchable though. Enough so that I'll let it slide with a weak 6/10.
