Review of John Dies at the End (2013) by Cailin T — 05 Apr 2013
I spent much of the movie wondering if there was a design to the madness here or if it was all just a coincidence. The film teeters between oddly whimsical to completely loony and back like a yoyo, dizzying and wonderfully bizarre.
The last act, though, becomes a bit awkward and clunky with oddities thrown in just to be strange rather than organic pieces of the story. Overall it's certainly original and unlike anything I've seen before, which is definitely saying something.
