First star for the title... I mean honestly john doesn't even dies at the end.... Second for the story, it's so out there , I can't even recall watching something so incredibly 'off the wall' in a long time.
Third star because no matter how silly, cheap or over the top this film can be, it never ever takes itself seriously! The acting is pretty decent, Clancy Brown is awesome, Giamatti impeccable as always and Williamson & Mayes the perfect duo of stoners.
.. oh and by the way there's an awesome driving dog in this fim...yes a driving dog! Fourth star comes from the level of fun/pleasure/entertainment I got out of this film. I really wanted to catch it at the movies but it was only in theatres for a week or so.
I understand few people might get the jokes, the second/third dregree sense of humour & the grotesque of it all. It's so refreshing to see films like that, shameless, fun, with a little message to pass & some very interesting ideas.
John dies at the end is THE UFO flick of 2013. But what a TREAT!
