Read the book only AFTER you've watched the film... If you read the book first, you'll be very very disappointed. Not because "The book was so much better" but because the first 3/4 of the film is the first half of the first story and the last 1/4 of the film is 1/10th of the 2nd story that makes up the book "John Dies at the End".
They had the potential to make a SPECTACULAR 2 film series and instead they made a half assed parody of their own irreverent book. What they did was quite pathetic and destroyed TWO potential films, not just the one they got produced.
