Review of John Dies at the End (2013) by Brandon S — 08 Feb 2014
I was so excited to see this onscreen adaptation of one of my favorite novels. The source material gave this film plenty of potential but unfortunately the representation by Don Coscarelli falls flat. It is a shame to see it so poorly done.
I understand that it was relatively low-budget but a lot of major plot elements were missing. Even the great one liners that would have been easy to include were nowhere to be found. Read the book, you will not be disappointed in it.
Overall, John Dies at the End captures the quirkiness of the novel but left me extremely disappointed by the end. This film deserves a remake.
