John Carter has a good story and even though its a full 2 hours it never gets boring which is a real achievement these days. The setting and its aliens and red humans are interesting and most of the CGI is very good.
It totally overdoes the jumping thing in the 1st half of the movie but it looks good and there are good battle scenes.
