This was an awesome movie. The writing is brilliant, the acting is exactly right, and the action is good to great. The reason critics did not like it is because they are too busy watching bad Pixar talking animal movies.
If you want to know where Dune, Star Wars, and tons of other sci-fi classics come from, see this movie. And then read the comics from the 70s.
