Review of Joe Versus the Volcano (1990) by Gino C — 27 Jan 2009
An uneven but somewhat magical romance. Far better and lasting than the other two CRAP Hanks/Ryan pairings. John Patrick Shanley's direction is that of a first-timer, and the editing rough. But the film still manages to burst with romance and color due in large part to Georges Delerue's terrific musical score.
This also was when Meg Ryan cute and adorable routine wasn't old hat and she did some fine acting to boot.
