Joe Kidd has a great triple shot cast in Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall & John Saxon (as a Mexican!). It's even written by Elmore Leonard. When I saw this in the opening credits I thought that I was in for something truly special.
Although good there isn't anything that stands out & distinguishes it as something exceptional in the genre (even if you can smell the garlic on occasion). It is a damn fine way to spend a lazy afternoon & it doesn't out stay it's welcome.
Eastwood is still a badass in the end when the sheriff asks him if there's anything he can do for him & Clint punches him the fuck out & tells him next time he'll knock his damn head off.
.Eastwood is THE MAN no matter what.
