Movies about anti-hero characters can be cool, and Joe is kind of cool. Joe isn't a good guy. He smokes, drinks, sleeps with prostitues, been to jail, and lives in a dump. However, almost everyone in this dump of a town seems to like him and comparred to everyone else, he's a saint.
What's cool is Joe actually looks out for other people and that makes him kind of a hero. There's a drunk in this movie that is a loathsome of a character as I've seen in a movie in some time.
Joe can be kind of rough, and kuddos to Nick Cage for a solid performance.
