Review of Jodhaa Akbar (2008) by Sakshi N — 03 Apr 2008
Ok let's not compare anything Indian to Indian MTVs with funny dance steps and funny characters (Indian superman anyone?). I'm sure we don't want Boom Tarat to actually represent all Philippine music.
Jodhaa Akbar is the Epic romance between Jalaluddin Mohammed and the beautiful Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai). Initially a marriage of alliance offered by King Bharmal to Emperor Jalaluddin, Jodhaa and the emperor slowly discover true love and eventually inspires Emperor Jalaluddin that earned him the title Akbar (the great).
Aishwarya is definitely the star and the heroine here. This movie is 3.5 hours long with lots of side stories. It's definitely the culture ( remember the Mahabarata? Longest epic?). Good acting and good story nevertheless. It's just weird how they can sleep with a large nose ring.
Story: 6/10.
Boredom factor: 4/10.
Talk to Action to Singing Ratio: 4:4:2.
Pace: Slow to medium.
Watch Again: 3/10.
Overall: 6/10.
