Review of Jodhaa Akbar (2008) by Fredrik S — 07 Mar 2012
A blockbuster the like of which has not been produced in Hollywood since the heyday of the 1950s. Think Cleopatra, with a disctinctively Indian flair, and melodrama that would be cheesy in any Holywood film but actually works here.
Beautiful photo, great sets, incredible costumes and beautiful actors. The film is like a sweet, colorful pastry. At 213 minutes, you'd think it would get boring, but it doesn't.
