Review of Jobs (2013) by Monique Y — 28 Sep 2013
The movie is good and Ashton delivers an extremely believable performance of his character. The problem is Steve Jobs himself. Same happened to me when after reading the 700+ pages of his biography I couldn't understand the man behind the legend.
He authorized it, he chose the writer, he provided information but he also made it clear from start that he wouldn't participate in his making. It seems to me that he was so shy and kept to himself that he never shared with almost anyone (willing to talk about it at least) who he was, what he felt, why motivated him in levels other than his passion for the product.
As Woz told him, that's a very small and sad world. So, yes, we know the facts of his life but there is no book or movie that will ever be able to portray who he really was!
