Review of Jingle All the Way (1996) by Trevor R — 05 Apr 2014

I really think Arnold's comic ability has always been vastly underrated, and he's quite good here even if the script can't figure out what it's trying to say. He plays well off of Sinbad though, and they have one or two interactions that touch upon some surprisingly well-handled notes of melancholic remembrance.

I also love how utterly insane their misadventures get, and Phil Hartman is golden. But despite these redeeming elements, the driving purpose of the plot, the interactions with Jake Lloyd, and a horrible, horrible ending are all completely non-functional and too blindly silly to have any lasting impact.
