Review of Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (1999) by Private U — 25 May 2008

Part of the holy trinity of dystopian political anime movies (GITS and Akira making up the other two). The film is almost painfully slow at times, but rewards the viewer with a blistering portrayal of a government exploiting the threat of terror for disingenuous purposes.

Jin Roh is deserving of pretty much every adjective that idiotic people slather onto V for Vendetta. Watch out for the wolf motif throughout the film that Square Enix absconded with in Advent Children.
