Review of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001) by Gabe H — 06 Jun 2010
Jimmy Neutron is a boy genius and way ahead of his friends, but when it comes to being cool, he's a little behind. All until one day when his parents, and parents all over Earth are kidnapped by aliens, it's up to him to lead all the children of the world to rescue their parents.
Them movie is short and and it's simple, it's a bit of light entertainment. The problem I have with it is that I believe animated movies should be made to entertain everyone, but here the target audience is made for children, which annoys me because it's an example of why a lot of people assume that every animated movie is for kids, and a lot of movies made with animation aren't made that way just because kids will like it, the Pixar movies for example. But that doesn't mean the movie is actually bad, it does actually have an okay story and in it is a decent message for kids.
JIMMY NEUTRON: BOY GENIUS is better than the TV show (which I don't think is too bad either). I used to watch this movie a lot when I was younger, probably because I wanted to be like Jimmy Neutron.
So overall, kids will love it, but maybe just kids. Unless you were a fan of this movie when you were younger.
