Review of Jimi: All Is by My Side (2013) by Dave C — 20 Nov 2017
THis is a strange fish. It covers the period from Hendrix being an unknown sideman to the eve of topping the bill at Monterey, but it does so without any of his own songs because his estate had a hissy fit.
THat rather pulls the rug from under its feet, mainly leaving rather generic blues jamming and little other music.
Well acted, yes indeed, but a lot seems to have been left in the editing room judging from references to people not in the film at.
