Review of Glass (2019) by Dave C — 19 Jan 2019
Quick Take (Non-Spoiler):
1. Split was a slight departure from M Night's trademark style. Glass is a return to more familiar territory. Not only in the way it comes back to that comic book structure, but in the many ways that this film is a love letter to fans of M Night, especially those who have stuck with him through the ups and the downs.
2. The film gives James Mcavoy even more room to play, and the scenes where it does bring the three of them together I found very exciting and rewarding.
3. For those looking for something that rewards the thematic journey of the previous two films, I think Glass does a wonderful job of bringing it all together. If you are looking for something more concise, action driven and focused (like Split) you might find yourself wrestling with Glass more than enjoying it.
