Review of Jigsaw (2017) by Wael — 07 Mar 2018
The eighth installment in the outrageously-gory and suspenseful Saw franchise is nowhere close to being even half as good as the worst one in the original series. The gore is still there, but the general plotline came to be very predictable (especially the merging of different timelines and who the antagonist is), and the mysterious dark feel of the games we got to see in the previous films has been replaced by pointless narrowed-down bloodshed and, sometimes, humor.
There are a lot of mistakes that show the lack of effort that was present sometimes (one that comes to mind is the doctors showing up at the scene of the crime in their lab-scrubs... really?). The whole film just feels tired and without purpose.
